I. TERCERA PERSONA DE LA DEIDAD.

I. THIRD PERSON IN THE GODHEAD.

A. Palabra “Dios” es plural. Gén. 1:26; 3:22; 11:6, 7. Tres Personas.

A. Word “God” is plural. Gen. 1:26; 3:22; 11:6, 7. Three Persons.

B. Padre, Hijo, Espíritu Santo. Mat. 28:19. También Mat. 3:16, 17.

B. Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Matt. 28:19. Also Matt. 3:16, 17.

C. El Espíritu Santo es Dios, Hech. 5:3,4

C. The Holy Spirit is God, Acts 5:3, 4.

D. Es una Persona: Habla, Hech. 8:29; enseña, Jn. 14:26; testifica, Jn. 15:26. No es una mera “fuerza”, sino una Persona. Sufre como Persona, Efes. 4:30.

D. He is a Person: He speaks, Acts 8:29; He teaches, Jn. 14:26; testifies, Jn. 15:16. He is not a mere “force”, but rather a Person. He suffers as a Person, Eph. 4:30.

II. OBRA DEL ESPÍRITU SANTO.

II. WORK OF HOLY SPIRIT.

A. Jesús dijo a los APÓSTOLES que el Espíritu Santo “os enseñará todas las cosas, y os recordará todo lo que os he dicho”, Jn. 14:26.

A. Jesus said to APOSTLES that the Holy Spirit “will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you”, Jn. 14:26.

B. El Espíritu Santo “os guiará (A LOS APOSTOLES) a toda la verdad”, Jn. 16:13; por eso, tenemos “toda la verdad” en la Biblia.

B. The Holy Spirit “will guide you (THE APOSTLES) into all truth,” Jn. 16:13; therefore, we have “all the truth” in the Bible.

C. El Espíritu Santo CONFIRMÓ la palabra con milagros, Heb. 2:3, 4.

A. Los apóstoles, Hech. 1:4, 5; 2:1-4. Propósito: para revelar el evangelio.

B. Cornelio, Hech. 11:16,17. Para convencer a los judíos que ahora Dios aceptaba a los gentiles. Estos son los únicos dos casos del bautismo con el Espíritu Santo.

V. DON DEL ESPÍRITU SANTO.

V. GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.

A. Hech. 2:38, lo que el Espíritu Santo da a los obedientes, todos los beneficios, bendiciones espirituales, privilegios, honores de la salvación.

A. Acts 2:38, what the Holy Spirit gives to the obedient, all the benefits, spiritual blessings, privileges, honors of salvation.

B. El Espíritu Santo “mora” en nosotros, Rom. 8.9; 1 Cor. 6:19.

B. The Holy Spirit “dwells” in us, Rom. 8:9; 1 Cor. 6:19.

C. Significa que tenemos comunión, participación, con el Espíritu Santo, 2 Cor. 13:14, o sea, en las cosas divinas y celestiales reveladas por El.

C. Means that we have fellowship or participation with the Holy Spirit, 2 Cor. 13:14, that is, in the divine and heavenly things revealed by Him.

VI. ¿CÓMO “MORA” EL ESPÍRITU SANTO EN EL CRISTIANO?

VI. HOW DOES THE HOLY SPIRIT “DWELL” IN A CHRISTIAN?

A. No es un sentimiento emocional y misterioso que no se puede explicar. Los que hablan así confunden la obra del Espíritu Santo con sus propias emociones y su propia imaginación.

A. It is not an emotional and mysterious feeling that can’t be explained.

Those who talk this way confuse the work of the Holy Spirit with their own emotions and their own imagination.

B. Rom. 7:20, “el pecado mora en mí”; 7:18, “en mi carne, no mora el bien”. Apoc. 2:13, “donde mora Satanás”. Morar = dirigir, controlar, guiar, estar bajo la influencia de. Es lo que hace el Espíritu Santo por la palabra, Efes. 6:17.

B. Rom. 7:20, “sin dwells in me”; 7:18, “in my flesh nothing good dwells”; Rev. 2:13, “where Satan dwells.” Dwell = direct, control, guide, be under the influence of. This is what the Holy Spirit does through the word, Eph 6:17.

C. El Espíritu Santo mora en nosotros como Dios y Cristo habitan en nosotros 1 Jn. 4:12; Gál. 2:20; Efes. 3:17.

C. The Holy Spirit dwells in us as God and Christ dwell in us, 1 Jn. 4:12; Gal. 2:20; Eph. 3:27.

VII. ¿CÓMO SABEMOS SI EL ESPÍRITU SANTO MORA EN NOSOTROS?

VII. HOW DO WE KNOW IF THE HOLY SPIRIT DWELLS IN US?

A. Rom. 8:1,5, 9, 14, somos guiados por Él. No seremos como Elimas (Hech. 13:10) “lleno de todo engaño y fraude, enemigo de toda justicia” .. “hijo del diablo”. No seremos como Ananías (Hechos 5:3), “¿por qué ha llenado Satanás tu corazón para mentir al Espíritu Santo?” No seremos como el sumo sacerdote y todos los judíos que estaban con él que “se llenaron de celos”, Hech. 5:17. No seremos como los de Rom. 1:29-31, “LLENOS de toda injusticia, maldad, avaricia, malicia; COLMADOS de envidia, homicidios, pleitos, engaños, malignidad; chismosos, 30 detractores, aborrecedores de Dios, insolentes, soberbios, jactanciosos, inventores de lo malo, desobedientes a los padres, 31 insensatos, desleales, crueles y sin misericordia …”

A. Rom. 8:1,5,9,14, we are led by Him. We won’t be like Elymas (Acts 13:10), “full of all deceit and fraud, enemy of all righteousness” … “son of the devil.” We will not be like Ananias (Acts 5:3), “Why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit?” We will not be like the High Priest and all the Jews that were with him who “were filled with jealousy,” Acts 5:17. We will not be like those of Rom. 1:29-31, “FILLED with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; gossips, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful ..”

B. Gál. 5:22, 23, llevamos el “fruto del Espíritu”; somos espirituales, Gál. 6:1. No simplemente orar con emoción. Es posible tener un parecer humilde, piadoso y angélico, o un tono de voz reverente y no ser espirituales. No significa ser siempre “positivos” y nunca “negativos”. Si fuera así, ni Cristo ni Pablo serían espirituales. En fin, los espirituales son los que son guiados por la palabra de los apóstoles que fue revelada por el Espíritu Santo.

B. Gal. 5:22, 23, we bear the “fruit of the Spirit”; we are spiritual, Gal. 6:1. Not simply pray with emotion. It is possible to have a humble, pious and angelic appearance, or a reverent tone of voice and not be spiritual. Does not mean to always be “positive” and never “negative.” If that were so, neither Christ nor Paul would be spiritual. Finally, the spiritual are those who are led by the word of the apostles that was revealed by the Holy Spirit.

C. Efes. 5:18, LLENOS DEL ESPÍRITU. Comparar este texto con Col. 3:16, “Que la palabra de Cristo habite en abundancia en vosotros”. Son paralelos. Si la palabra no habita en abundancia en nosotros, es imposible estar llenos del Espíritu Santo. ¿Qué hacemos si la palabra mora en abundancia en nosotros y estamos llenos del Espíritu? “enseñándoos y amonestándoos unos a otros con salmos, himnos y canciones espirituales, cantando a Dios”. Efes. 6:18; Judas 20, también orar en el Espíritu, o sea, bajo la dirección del Espíritu Santo, según sus enseñanzas.

C. Eph. 5:18, FULL OF THE SPIRIT. Compare this text with Col. 3:16, “Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you.” They are parallel. If the word does not dwell abundantly in us, it is impossible to be full of the Holy Spirit. What do we do if the word dwells in us richly and we are full of the Spirit? “teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, singing to God.” Eph. 6:18; Jude 20, also pray in the Spirit, that is, under the direction of the Holy Spirit, according to His teachings.

D. Rom. 15:14, estaremos “llenos de bondad .. todo conocimiento”. Efes. 3:19, “llenos de toda plenitud de Dios”. Fil. 1:11, estaremos “llenos del fruto de justicia”. Hech. 9:36, llenos “de buenas obras y de actos de misericordia”.

D. Rom. 15:14, we will be “full of goodness .. All knowledge.” Eph. 3:19, “filled with all the fullness of God.” Phil. 1:11, we will be “full of the fruit of righteousness.” Acts 9:36, full “of good works and acts of mercy.”

VIII. ¿CUÁL ES EL PAPEL DEL ESPÍRITU SANTO EN LA CONVERSIÓN?

VIII. WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN CONVERSION?

A. Doctrina de Juan Calvino, que el hombre nace pecador, corrupto, no puede hacer nada. Que ni siquiera puede creer, que el Espíritu obra directamente sobre el corazón, APARTE DE LA PALABRA ... Que le da al pecador una experiencia de gracia, y con esto es convertido, es salvo y no puede caer de la gracia. La Biblia no enseña tal doctrina.

A. Doctrine of John Calvin, that man is born a sinner, corrupt, cannot do anything … That he cannot even believe, that the Spirit operates directly on his heart, APART FROM THE WORD … That He gives to the sinner an experience of grace, and with this he is converted, is saved, and cannot fall from grace. The Bible does not teach this doctrine.

B. La Biblia enseña que la palabra del Espíritu Santo es enseñada por los apóstoles y otros y que todos pueden oír el evangelio y obedecerlo. Jn. 3:5, nacidos del Espíritu = convertidos por la palabra del Espíritu, 1 Ped. 1:23, 25 (la palabra, evangelio, es la “simiente” que produce la nueva vida). Jn. 16:7, 8, Espíritu Santo convence al pecador. ¿Cómo? Por la predicación de su palabra. Véanse los casos de conversión en Hechos de los Apóstoles. No se ve el Espíritu Santo, como no se ve el viento, Jn. 3:8, pero se puede ver el resultado de su obra porque produce cambio de corazón y obediencia de los oyentes. El agua = bautismo para el perdón de los pecados, Hech. 2:38; 10:48; 22:16. Por eso, Mat. 28:19, “haced discípulos de todas las naciones”; Mar. 16:15, “predicad el evangelio a toda criatura”

B. The Bible teaches that the word of the Holy Spirit is taught by the apostles and others and that everyone can hear the gospel and obey it. Jn. 3:5, born of the Spirit = converted by the word of the Spirit, 1 Pet. 1:23, 25 (the word, the gospel, is the “seed” that produces the new life). Jn. 16:7, 8, Holy Spirit convinces the sinner. How? Through the preaching of His word. See the examples of conversion in Acts of Apostles. Holy Spirit is not seen, as we cannot see the wind, Jn. 3:8, but the result of His work can be seen because He produces a change of heart and the obedience of those who hear. The water = baptism for the forgiveness of sins, Acts 2:38; 10:48; 22:16. Therefore, Matt. 28:19, “make disciples of all the nations”; Mk. 16:15, “preach the gospel to every creature.”
